History
On July 5, 1956, MAP was established
by twenty Real Estate Brokers in Chicagoland
with the goal to provide better service
to their communities, to encourage
all members to uphold standards of
business ethics and to offer a higher
standard of Real Estate service through
education.
The name “MAP” was derived
from the areas that were most served
at that time, Mount Prospect, Arlington
Heights, and Palatine-Prospect Heights.
During their 48-year history, MAP
MLS has expanded throughout the Northern
Illinois suburbs and Chicago neighborhoods,
providing superior information services,
economically networking Brokers and
sales associates.
Do I need MAP MLS?
In the beginning of 2004, ten Coldwell
Banker Real Estate companies dropped
out of the MLSNI (Multiple Listing
Service of Northern Illinois) and
joined with MAP MLS. Since then many
companies have followed suit and are
now members of MAP MLS with many more
to follow.
If you live in the North-Northwest
Chicagoland area it would be extremely
beneficial to be listed in both MLSNI
and MAP MLS. One simply will not give
you the exposure you need to market
to 100% of the agents that are waiting
to present you a buyer.
If you live in within the Chicago
city limits, western, south or southwestern
suburbs the added exposure can only
help because, as you know, the majority
of homebuyers moving into these areas
are from the North and Northwest suburbs.

to discuss this further, do not hesitate

an informed decision and get the maximum
exposure you need!
